There is Always Something Better!

I thought I would tell this story not only because it is great news, but I also think it has a good message.

A few weeks ago, I was fervently looking for a summer internship (since I still needed some internship credit hours). There were two internships I had applied for (both in Alabama) that I really wanted. Unfortunately, I was turned down from both. With the semester almost over and still without an internship, I felt pretty dejected and that things were hopeless.

Initially, I wanted an internship in Alabama because I wanted to stay in my home state after graduation. Then, I remembered a recent conversation I had with a friend who was telling me about how cool of a city Nashville was. I remembered there was a listing on my school's career website for an internship in the Nashville area. I thought to myself, "Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to apply." So I sent some of my writing samples and video projects and had a Skype interview. I didn't think I had a chance getting the internship. However, the next week I got an email saying I had been offered the internship with Spry Living. I was ecstatic! I would be spending my summer in Nashville after all!

After researching Spry, I discovered a lot of cool things about them. They mainly focus on health, wellness, beauty, food, and everyday living. Spry's print publication reaches over 600 newspapers across the country, and have interviewed celebrities such as Paula Deen, NFL quarterback Joe Montana, and "Sex and the City's" Cynthia Nixon. Their contributors have even had features shown on the TODAY Show!

This internship is even better than the ones I had originally applied for! I can't wait to start and I will be blogging more about it on my Wordpress account!

On a final note, the point of this story is that when things don't go your way, it isn't because God wants you to be miserable. It is because He has something better in mind! Just remember Jeremiah 29:11!

Have a great day y'all! :)
